If you’re anything like me, you probably spend hours upon hours obsessing over your website’s SEO. You make sure that every page has the perfect meta title and description, include strategic keywords, and take measures to ensure that your site will be listed on the first page of Google searches. And while all of this is important, it turns out that there’s another factor that can be even more influential in determining your site’s ranking: Off Page SEO.

This refers to the things that happen outside of your website that can impact your SEO, such as social media engagement, backlinks, and reviews. As the world becomes increasingly digitized, it’s more important than ever for businesses to have an online presence. And while having a website is a good start, it’s not enough to simply exist online. In order to really stand out, you need to actively work on your off page SEO.

This includes things like social media branding and marketing. With so much competition out there, it’s essential to make sure that your business is easily found by potential customers. And one of the best ways to do that is to make use of social media platforms. By creating engaging content, using relevant hashtags, and participating in trends, you can reach a wider audience and attract new customers. So if you’re not already incorporating social media into your off page SEO strategy, now is the time to start.

Here are some examples of Off Page SEO:

Podcasts

Social media posts

Forums/Reddit

Commenting on other posts!

One of the keys to SEO in general is to be authentic, this means be true to your brand. Interacting with consumers is huge right now. Tik Tok and Twitter have really amplified this in the past few years. Here’s an example:

Another popular example is the Wendy’s Twitter account, man she can be ruthless but we love every second of it.

Damn Wendy that was funny

There’s an old saying that goes, “There’s no such thing as bad publicity.” And when it comes to SEO, there’s no such thing as too much either. The more people talk about something, the more likely they are to remember it, the more authentic it comes off as. This is especially true when it comes to jokes and memes.

Memes are the lifeblood of the internet, and they often go viral because they’re funny and relatable. But they also stay in our collective consciousness because we keep talking about them (Google picks up on this). The next time you see a funny meme or brand interaction that makes you laugh, remember that it’s not just entertainment; it’s also a powerful SEO tool.
