AI Art for the Not Artist
How Non-Artists Like Me Can Create Masterpieces With AI
Since I was a tiny human I always wished (prayed) for the ability to draw my ideas. Unfortunately my artistic ability stops after stick figures and circles (if I’m lucky). For years I would write my ideas, designs, and creations out in my field notes and find a designer on Fiver or someone in my friend group to make it come to life.
In these last few months AI software like DALL·E 2 and Copymatic’s AI Image generator has come to fruition. At first I was hesitant but being the technology consumer that I am, I had to give it a go.
I started out using Copymatic for this considering I jumped on the AI generated copy train pretty early on. Here is a makeshift case study:
Introduction:
Once you get into Copymatic’s website and click “Image Generator” this is what you will see.
The first task I complete is filling out the Item Description section. This is where you add in your design notes, idea, and design concept. It is important to note that you have an unlimited character count so make this as detailed as you possibly can.
Once you have that filled out and ready to go the next step is to select the engine. You have two options: Realistic and Fictional
Style is a little more in-depth, giving you more options depending on the style you want for said design. I use 3D rendering for product designs, Illustration for art, and digital art for possible social media posts.
Next you have the final four selections; Medium, Artist, Mood, and Details which are optional but important. This will determine the feel your art will give.
Now here are a few images I created using this software:
While I certainly have a specific style I like, there are endless possibilities when it comes to AI art.
Here are some websites you can use to get started:
I would love to see what you guys come up with and your specific styles!
